From the East

Brethren, For those of you who were not at our installation, you missed a great evening. The dinner was OUTSTANDING, and the installation itself was impressive. We had two prospective masons who attended and both of them left with petitions in their hands. We had our Grand Master and Grand line, plus four past Grand Master, Two from Maryland and one each from the District of Columbia, and Virginia. The members of our lodge almost equaled the number of visitors. Our first meeting in February will be ladies night. We have delicious Filipino food to eat, and the Bluegrass Gospel Express for entertainment. Come on out and bring your lady. This is an open meeting and an excellent time to bring that friend who has been inquiring about the fraternity. Our second meeting we will probably be conferring an entered apprentice degree. Come on out and show your support. Also in Feb., your lodge will be visiting Charlotte Hall. The Junior Warden will coordinate that visit.

Fraternally,

John W. LeRoy, Sr. Past Master

From the West

Brethren, the Masonic year has begun. As usual, I hope to see as many brothers as can attend each month. Your smiling faces are earnestly requested and needed. If you are able to attend but need a ride, just let us know and we can certainly arrange something. As I take the West again, I am still learning. I have been instructed in many things around the lodge. I find I am always learning something in the process. So with that said, I would like to invite all to come to our practices at the lodge (on the Mondays in between our regular communications) and the Grand Lodge Regional schools on the 1st Thursday of each month. You just might learn something you might not know or have forgotten. I am looking forward to this year and serving this lodge where I can. If you are interested in helping around the lodge, let the Worshipful Master or I know what you would like to help with and we can get you involved. Your help is greatly appreciated.

Fraternally,

David Miller, Senior Warden

From the South

Brethren, I would like to thank all those who made our installation such an outstanding success. From the oysters and ham to the farewells of the evening, it was certainly one to remember. It always warms my heart to see the Lodge room filled to capacity, and hopefully we will be able to do that more often in the future. Our list of those that were ill or recovering over the last month was a long one. During these cold winter months it must certainly be lonely for our Brothers and Sisters who are shut-ins. Please take a moment to make a warming call or even better a visit to someone who can no longer make it to Lodge. We will be planning another visit soon to Charlotte Hall Veteran’s Home to see our friends there. The past few times we have brought them small gifts which they have really appreciated. I have some thermal coffee mugs and small chess/checkers games to start them off this time, but if anyone wishes to contribute some small token they may appreciate I will gladly add it to the list. Better yet, be there with us to see the joy it brings them.

Fraternally,

James D. Jay, Junior Warden
